International Community, Taliban, Afghanistan,It has been four and a half months since the Taliban acquired power in Afghanistan. But the international community has still not recognised the Taliban regime. The United States and European countries have terminated the aid to Afghanistan. Neighbouring countries of Afghanistan like Iran and central Asian countries also have not recognised the Taliban rule. Pakistan and China advocating for the Taliban on the international platform have also not demonstrated the courage to recognise the Taliban government.

In this scenario, few reports suggested Russia be in discussion with the Taliban leadership for the last few months was preparing to recognise the Taliban regime. But Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied such claims in clear words. Lavrov said that recognising the Taliban government can only be considered if there is an inclusive government in Afghanistan and a definitive action against terrorism and narcotics trade. The Russian Foreign Minister presented the demands to the Taliban while speaking to a Russian news agency.

International Community, Taliban, Afghanistan,Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed hope that the Taliban will establish an all-inclusive government in Afghanistan which can protect the rights of minorities, later Iran may consider recognising the Taliban. After losing hope of getting recognised, the Taliban spokesman Samangani seems to have issued the threat of dangerous consequences faced by the international community.

Previously, the Taliban government had issued similar threats of dire consequences if the international community did not recognise the Taliban government in Afghanistan. Taliban had threatened to infiltrate Afghan refugees into these countries if the United States and the European countries did not release the Afghan funds and aid. The influx of Afghan refugees is already causing concern to Iran and the other central Asian countries. The neighbouring countries of Afghanistan are concerned that terrorists disguised as refugees may enter their countries. Security of the central Asian countries and Russia is under threat because of this. Therefore, Russia, which was speaking on the Afghan issue with the Taliban and Pakistan, has started increasing cooperation with India on this issue.
