In 2002, US journalist Daniel Pearl had been abducted in Pakistan. Daniel Pearl was working as the South Asia Bureau Chief in the Wall Street Journal. Pearl was working on a report regarding the exchanges between the notorious Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Al Qaeda. He was kidnapped during this period. Later, he was inhumanly beheaded. Pakistan had to face a lot of embarrassment around the world. It was highlighted that Pakistan is the centre of terrorism. Pakistan has once again been exposed with the Sindh High court giving the verdict to release Al Qaeda leader Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and his three accomplices, who are the perpetrators of this kidnap and killing. Their lawyers expressed confidence that Saeed Sheikh and his accomplices will be released from the prison on Saturday. The US state department has expressed resentment over the decision. US state department said that they had been assured that Daniel Pearl’s killers would not be released. Daniel Pearl’s father also expressed confidence that the Pakistan Supreme Court will not spare the killers of his son.

India has repeatedly accused that terrorists are moving freely in Pakistan and no actions are taken even against the arrested terrorists. Pakistan only creates a façade, in the name of counter-terrorism actions. In fact, Pakistan has always been protecting and harbouring terrorists. This Indian accusation is now getting an endorsement on the international level. This is why Pakistan has been included in the grey list of Financial Action Task Force, an organisation taking action against those involved in terror funding. Pakistan is desperately trying to get its name excluded from the grey list.

Despite all this, the High Courts in Pakistan are setting the leaders of terrorist organisations, free. This throws light on the pro-terrorism policies of Pakistan. A thick possibility of international repercussions, against Pakistan, also has been created because of this.
