Islamabad: – More than 3,800 new cases were reported from Pakistan in the last 24 hours, and the total number of cases has reached 188,926. Ten cricketers, selected in the Pakistan national team for the England tour, getting infected with Coronavirus has created a stir. Before this, reports had been received that more than 100 lawmakers, including ministers, had been affected by Coronavirus.
The government agencies in Pakistan are claiming that there have been only 3,755 Coronavirus deaths in the country. Pakistani agencies have initiated moves to impose lockdown in the country, now, when the number of cases has already reached near 200,000. Big markets in the country are being shut down, and fines are being levied on goods carriers. The Pakistan population, as well as journalists, are severely criticising these actions taken by the Imran Khan government. Media have started remarking that Imran Khan is getting this wisdom after pushing Pakistan in the grasp of Coronavirus.
Imran Khan is being blamed for being a complete failure in the fight against Coronavirus. It has already been reported that Imran Khan’s wife and the driver had been infected with Coronavirus. Thereafter, it was reported that ministers from Imran Khan’s cabinet had contracted the infection. Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the Railway Minister of Pakistan, was one of the patients. Other than him, former Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Shahbaz Sharif, the leader of opposition in the Pakistan parliament and brother of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, also have been reportedly infected with Coronavirus. Information Minister Fawad Hussain said that a minimum of 100 lawmakers from the Pakistani parliament have contracted the Coronavirus infection.
Every day, some or the other shocking report is being received from Pakistan. It has been revealed that ten cricketers and three members of support staff, from the national team selected for the England tour, have been infected with Coronavirus. This information was received from the preparation camp organised in Lahore and experienced players like Wahab Riyaz and Mohammed Hafiz feature on the list of Coronavirus patients. Pakistan cricket is already suffering badly. In this scenario, ten players infected with Coronavirus, just before the England tour, comes as a major jolt to Pakistan cricket.
The Pakistani agencies informed that the maximum incidence of Coronavirus has been found in the Punjab and Sindh provinces. 72,000 Coronavirus cases have been reported from Sindh, and more than 69,000 cases have been reported from Punjab. Whereas, more than 11,000 cases have been reported from capital Islamabad. The media in Pakistan are accusing Imran Khan of hiding facts regarding the number of Coronavirus cases in the country. A report claiming more than 100,000 cases in Lahore, has already been published in the media.
