Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman says he doesn’t care about Biden’s opinion on SaudiMoreover, the tensions in Saudi have augmented since Biden assumed power in the United States. In 2018, Saudi Prince Mohammed was charged with murdering Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey. At the time, Biden’s Democrat Party had adopted a stringent stance against it. Besides, after succeeding as the US President, Biden cornered Saudi over this issue and took decisions to encourage Yemeni rebels that attacked Saudi.

The international media has also cited that President Biden deliberately avoided connecting with Crown Prince Mohammed. Against that background, a popular US magazine, ‘The Atlantic’ questioned Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over that incident. Thus, Crown Prince Salman slammed it by saying he doesn’t care about what Biden thinks of him.

Furthermore, Crown Prince Mohammed also ridiculed the Biden administration and other organisations for advocating human rights over this murder. For that, he cited article 11 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states, ‘Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty’.

The Saudi Crown Prince also iterated that Saudi’s motive is to maintain its long, historical relations with the United States. He further stated that Saudi had made about $800 billion investments until now. However, while interviewing with a Saudi government press agency, he said that Saudi might reduce its investments in the United States in future.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with the Saudi Crown Prince on Thursday. At the time, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman proposed to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict via negotiations and offered help on behalf of Saudi for it.
