saudi-princePrince Alwaleed bin Talal, who has a 17 Billion Dollar fortune and is considered to be very influential, had been hung upside down and beaten. By giving Alwaleed extremely humiliating treatment, the rulers of Saudi are trying to send out a ‘strong’ message, says UK’s Daily Mail. The news report states that the other princes and officials under arrest had also been tortured and the torture was carried out by ‘Blackwater’ guards.

Based on the information provided by sources involved in these happenings, Prince Mohammed bin Salman has personally interrogated some princes. Prince Mohammed had been trying to get information from these princes. However, when they refuse to provide information, Prince Mohammed steps out after which the Blackwater guards treat the princes with humiliation and begin to torture them. Sources say that apart from the princes, the industrialists that are under arrest are being tortured more rigorously.

A few days back, a US daily had published an article as well that a few people under arrest were seriously injured. Based on the information received from a hospital doctor in Riyadh and an US official, a US daily had published a report which stated that 17 people under arrest were being treated medically. However, the Saudi Embassy in the US had rejected this claim.

Meanwhile, sources in Saudi claim that by taking such action, Prince Mohammad is trying to assert his authority by inducing fear. A British daily stated that Prince Mohammed was trying to obtain information on the network of the princes involved in the corruption in Saudi and related foreign officials. Also, within the last 3 weeks, Prince Mohammed had confiscated nearly 194 Billion Dollars from the princes’ bank accounts and seized their assets as well.

The princes were held in the five-star hotel, ‘Ritz Carlton’ located in Riyadh and even the ‘Royal Guard’ security had been withdrawn. The responsibility of the hotel’s security was fully assigned to ‘Blackwater’ and their guards were also present inside the Saudi military vehicles which had been positioned outside the hotel, informed the British daily.

These Blackwater guards had arrived in Saudi a few months back from the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi. A few days back, it was mentioned on the social media as well that 150 Blackwater guards had landed in Saudi. The British daily also claimed that these private security guards had arrived in Saudi on Prince Mohammed’s demand and these very guards were also deployed for Prince Mohhamed’s security. Three months back, a few of these guards had been sent to Prince Nayef’s house to keep him under house arrest.

Meanwhile, ‘Blackwater’ has rebuffed this claim made by the UK daily. These private security contractors have said that their guards were not deployed in Saudi Arabia. The senior officials of this company have also claimed that their guards do not participate in torturous interrogative procedures.
