Coronavirus cases cross 1.5 million across the globe, number of deaths nearing 100,000  

Washington: – Coronavirus has claimed 91,828 lives around the world so far. More than 2,400 patients died in the United States in the last 24 hours. John Hopkins University has informed that more than 70,000 new cases have been added in the previous 24 hours, around the world, taking the total number of cases to 1,554,590. Meanwhile, nearly 3,000 patients died in Europe, of which 938 deaths were reported from the United Kingdom in one day.

Coronavirus pandemic has claimed 15,824 lives in the United States. New York has become the epicentre of the pandemic in the United States, and more than 6,500 deaths have been reported from New York alone. Whereas, more than 11,000 cases have been reported from New York. The total number of cases in the United States has reached 440,679. Currently, the highest number of cases are in the United States, and the United States is only second to Italy in the number of deaths. The US news channels have expressed a fear that if the number of deaths in the United States increases at the same rate, the number of deaths in the United States will be more than Italy in the next two days.   

The rampage of the pandemic in the European continent continues unabated. 1,417 patients had died in France because of the virus on Tuesday. In view of such a high number of deaths for the second successive day, France is being termed as the new European centre for the Coronavirus pandemic. But the pandemic has claimed 938 lives in the United Kingdom. Out of these, 930 are from England, 70 from Scotland, 33 from Wales and five from Northern Ireland. The British government has confessed that there is a shortage of doctors and medical staff to fight the pandemic.  

Following the United Kingdom, 541 patients died in France. This takes the total number of deaths in France to 10,869. French President Emmanuel Macron will be making some important announcements on Monday. As per the media, the French President may decide to intensify the lockdown.  

Spain and Italy have not revealed any information regarding the pandemic for the last 24 hours. Claims are being made that the situation in these countries is improving. While the outbreak is on a rampage in Europe, the industry is demanding the withdrawal of the lockdown. The industry sector has warned that otherwise, it will take a huge financial hit, and the employment creation will stop completely. Therefore, as per some people, the European countries may take measures to withdraw or relax the restrictions of the lockdown.  

The medical experts have clearly warned that the withdrawal of lockdown can spell doom for the countries. Two-thirds of the deaths reported in the world are from Europe, and half the number of Coronavirus cases are in Europe. Therefore, it is difficult for any European country to relax or withdraw the lockdown at the moment.
