All the Chinese companies operating in foreign countries must share their data with the government. This is raising doubts over the functioning and credibility of the Chinese companies operating worldwide. The issues raised regarding Nuctech also are a part of the same concerns. Systems manufactured by this company have been installed in 26 out of the 27 countries in Europe.

As per the information given by the company, Nuctech security scanners have been installed at leading ports, border security posts between countries and diplomatic offices. European experts and analysts have warned that the company receives critical and sensitive information via these scanners. It has also been exposed that the company has supplied systems even for the campaign against the Uyghurs in China’s Xinjiang province.

The United States and Canada have banned the Nuctech systems and the United States has blacklisted this company. The government in the European country of Lithuania has ordered the removal of the Nuctech systems installed in the country. Nuctech was formed as a business enterprise of the Chinese Tsinghua University. The son of former Chinese President Hu Jintao was heading the company for many years.
