China earning billion of dollars through Organ smuggling amid Uyghur genocide: Herald Sun report

Beijing: – The United States and international human rights groups have accused China of massacring people of the Uyghurs clan in Xinjiang. But a leading Australian newspaper has accused China of making billions of dollars from the genocide. According to the newspaper, China earns billions of dollars every year by smuggling the organs of the Uyghurs.

A few months ago, China was accused of imprisoning about 1.5 million Uyghurs. It is alleged that China built this prison to suppress the voices of the Uyghurs against the communist regime. There were also reports of China keeping a close eye on the remaining Uyghurs in Xinjiang province. It was known that strict rules were imposed on these Uyghurs and allowed them to travel only a certain distance from their homes. At the same time, it is reported that China is also taking action on the places of worship of the Uyghurs.

Besides, China has denied the allegations in a statement issued on Friday. The statement cited that the Uyghurs had been placed in educational centres. However, Western countries and human rights groups have accused China of expelling Uyghurs from Xinjiang under the guise of an academic centre. Photographs of the torture camps were published in the international media. The United Nations human rights body also had expressed concerns about the situation.

The Australian newspaper Herald Sun’s report on China’s atrocities against the Uyghurs has caused a sensation. Only a handful of Uyghurs captured by China reach their homes. Eyewitnesses said that other Uyghurs were tortured in jail to confess to crimes they had not done. An Australian newspaper has accused China of persecuting other minorities in the same way. According to a report released by the study group ‘Australian Strategic Policy Institute’ (ASPI), China recruits minorities and Uyghurs in various factories.

According to ASPI figures, between 2017 and 2019, the communist regime smuggled about 80,000 Uyghurs out of Xinjiang. Uyghurs and minorities are used as workers in international companies for low wages. The Australian newspaper also accused China of making huge sums of money from the smuggling of Uyghur organs. China earns at least $1 billion a year by smuggling organs into the black market.

For this, the Australian newspaper referred to the China Tribune of 2019. About 60,000 organs are transplanted in China every year. In addition, the newspaper pointed out that these organ transplant hospitals and medical centres are located near Chinese military prisons. According to the newspaper, the price of the liver in the international market is around 160 thousand dollars.

The news has received a lot of international attention, with some news agencies reminding of a United Nations Human Rights Council report published in June. The human rights group had accused China of smuggling organs into the international black market, targeting minorities, including Uyghurs. The human rights group called it a ‘terrible thing’. The whole world knows that human rights and human life are not valued in China. But the horrific fact that China is torturing minorities and smuggling their organs rocks the whole world. The news could have dire repercussions around the world. This could deliver a major blow to China’s international image.

Demands for a boycott of Chinese products are mounting worldwide, with allegations of Coronavirus pandemic originating in China. In such a scenario, China cannot turn a blind eye to allegations of human organ trafficking. If China does not prove these allegations to be false, it may have to pay a very high price in the form of international outrage.
