Coronavirus crisis at dangerous levels in China along with Europe

Berlin/Vienna/Beijing: – The Coronavirus pandemic crisis has risen to dangerous levels. It has happened due to relaxation in restrictions, slowed down vaccination, and violation of social distancing norms. Germany, the leading country in Europe and the fourth largest economy globally, has decided to deploy military to control the Coronavirus pandemic. Besides, lockdown restrictions have been imposed on Austrian citizens, who are unvaccinated. As per reports, new Coronavirus cases are being detected in nearly 21 Chinese provinces with the fresh outbreak.

Two months ago, the picture was that the Coronavirus pandemic was steadily coming under control. The number of new cases and deaths gradually decreased in the United States and many countries in the Asian continent. The increasing rate of vaccination and strict imposition of restrictions were the reasons behind this. Thus, many countries decided to ease the restrictions. The daily activities started attaining normalcy, given this.

But the picture started to change in October. The number of new cases and deaths rapidly began to increase in many European countries. Initially, it was observed that the countries from eastern Europe were being hit hard by the Coronavirus pandemic. But now, the threat of the pandemic is intensifying in most of the European countries. New records are being set by the number of cases reported from Germany. The health agencies informed that the intensive care units are almost overflowing with Coronavirus cases.

Slowed down vaccination speed and unvaccinated citizens are the main factors behind the growing outbreak in Germany. Last week, outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel made an emotional appeal to the people, calling on them to take the vaccine. But despite that, the situation has not improved and now the decision to deploy troops is being taken. The German government has begun mobilizing 12,000 troops to assist the health agencies. Sources said that more than 600 troops have already been deployed.

Austria, the German neighbour, has announced a separate lockdown for unvaccinated citizens. The decision was announced on Sunday and protests began across the country. Austria has a population of about 9 million, of which 2 million have not been vaccinated until now. Thus, Austria becomes the first European country to implement a lockdown for non-vaccinated citizens.

Meanwhile, a fresh outbreak of Coronavirus has caused havoc in China, the epicentre of the Coronavirus pandemic. In the last four weeks, nearly 1,500 Delta variants have been found in China. It has spread to 21 provinces in China, which includes the capital Beijing. Local authorities informed that the city of Dalian was the hardest hit, with more than 230 patients reported in the last ten days. More than 10,000 students are said to have been ‘quarantined’ in the city of Zhuang in the Chinese province of Liaoning. Despite China’s implementation of the ‘Zero Covid Policy’ during the Coronavirus pandemic, new outbreaks are emerging in various parts of the country. Analysts claim that this is adding to concerns of the Chinese government and administration.
