'Asian NATO' will destabilise the region - China warns US and NATO -

New York: Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand have been invited to the NATO meeting. Taking cognisance of this, China recorded a vitriolic reaction. China has warned that it will bitterly oppose NATO involvement in the Asia-Pacific region or the inclusion of countries from the region into NATO to form Asian NATO. Such a development will only destabilise the sector.

Moreover, a NATO meeting started in Madrid on Tuesday. Heads of state of all NATO members are participating in this meeting held against the background of the Ukraine conflict. Heads of the state of Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, countries from the Asia-Pacific region, have also been invited to the NATO meeting. It is claimed that these countries will participate in a NATO meeting for the first time.

The issue of the massacre in the Xinjiang province also will feature in the meeting, along with the Ukraine conflict. European analysts also expect an important announcement regarding the increasing Chinese threat to Taiwanese security. In this scenario, China has become restless, given the invitation extended to Australia and New Zealand from the Asia-Pacific region along with Chinese neighbours Japan and South Korea.

NATO is creating virtual enemies in the Indo-Pacific region. NATO is preparing to form an independent military front uniting the countries in this sector. Zang Jun, Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations, warned that China would never allow these efforts to succeed. Whereas, Hu Shijin, former editor of the Chinese mouthpiece Global Times and also a staunch supporter of the Chinese communist regime, warned South Korea in clear words. Hu Shijin said that if South Korea decides to join NATO, its fate would be like Ukraine.

Furthermore, reports are being received that South Korea is preparing to Join NATO cyber group. Chinese analysts claim that this South Korean step is anti-China. A few days ago, even Japan had given indications of joining this group. Therefore, it is being claimed that China is threatening South Korea and Japan through its agents. Along with China, even North Korea lashed out at the participation of the Japanese and South Korean leaders in the NATO meeting. North Korea accused the efforts of an Asian NATO are dangerous and a major conspiracy against North Korea.

Meanwhile, five countries, including the United States, formed a group ‘Partners in the Blue Pacific (PBP), against China, which is trying to increase its military influence in the Asia-pacific Island countries. It is claimed that this group has been formed to counter the Chinese military activities in the Pacific Islands countries. This is the third group formed by the Biden administration other than AUKUS in the Asia-Pacific region against China.
