Xi Jinping instructs diplomats to create image of respectable China

Beijing – China has acquired an image of a cruel country killing more than 3.5 million people by spreading the Coronavirus pandemic and causing immeasurable loss to the world. The Chinese President has started feeling the need to change this image of a ruthless country and the increasing hatred for China. Therefore, the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, has delivered a message to its diplomats to create an image of a credible, loveable and respectable China. Along with the diplomats, President Jinping has even appealed to the communist party leaders for this.

He said that China should acquire more and more friends. The number of friends of China should increase and keep on expanding. Efforts should be made to increase cooperation with those countries willing to understand China and become its friends. There is a need to keep control of your tones. President Jinping has suggested to the Chinese diplomats to exhibit restraint.

Since the last few months, China has started threatening everyone from the smallest countries to the United States. The Chinese diplomats had threatened Australia. In contrast, the Chinese Ambassador had threatened Bangladesh of dire consequences if it participated in QUAD. Chinese Foreign Ministry also endorsed the language used by the Chinese Ambassador. The Chinese expansionist policies are expressed through these statements. But President Jinping has realised that this language will not work in the current world situation.

Responsible analysts are accusing that China spread the Coronavirus pandemic globally and used it like a weapon. Moreover, information endorsing the view is being published daily. Therefore, there is anger brewing in the world regarding China. At the same time, some countries have upheld the demand for a thorough investigation into the origin of the Coronavirus pandemic. In this scenario, China is feeling the need for allies. Therefore, President Jinping has delivered this message to the Chinese diplomats to make efforts in that direction.

Chinese scholar and former diplomat Zhang Weiwei also advised that a serious evaluation of the international image of China is necessary. The Chinese image has been destroyed in the western world given the Coronavirus pandemic. This must be thought over seriously. If China intends to emerge as a superpower, the world will have to recognise China. Weiwei said that otherwise, China cannot have absolute power. Weiwei pointed out that the western world believes that Chinese communist ideology is a threat to them.

Last year, a survey conducted by the Pew Research Centre in 14 countries revealed a feeling of hatred against China. There is also worldwide displeasure over the Chinese stand regarding Hongkong, Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Tibet. In this scenario, China has to brighten its image and increase the number of allies. The current Chinese image is that of a country using predatory economic policies to rob the poorer countries and a brutal country starting a biological war with the Coronavirus pandemic. However, there is no possibility of the Chinese efforts successfully improving the image in the near future.
