Work on third aircraft carrier has already begun - Defence Minister Rajnath SinghDefence Minister Rajnath Singh and Naval Chief R Hari Kumar spoke at a program organized by a private news channel. Citing the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which joined the Navy a few months ago, the Defence Minister expressed his satisfaction over the success achieved by the country on this front. A few years ago, no one would have thought India would develop an indigenous aircraft carrier. But today, after the United States, Russia, Great Britain, France, Germany and China, India has become the seventh country in the world with the ability to build aircraft carrier warships, Rajnath Singh further said.

The Defence Minister made an important announcement that the country has started working on the third aircraft carrier warship after INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant. But he did not disclose the details. A few days ago, the Navy Chief said the country needs a third aircraft carrier. However, the Navy Chief said it has not yet been decided whether this aircraft carrier will be a 45,000-ton warship like INS Vikrant or a giant 65,000-ton warship. However, claims have been made public that the Navy and Defence Ministry have agreed on a 45,000-ton aircraft carrier. The Visakhapatnam Shipyard, which built the ‘Vikrant’, had also proposed to the Navy that the 45,000-tonne warship could be built in five to six years.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has said that India will become a five trillion dollar economy in a short period if the defence forces start using indigenously made weapons and defence equipment, Admiral R Hari Kumar said. The Navy Chief clarified in the program of this news channel that the Indian Navy would contribute its best to achieve this goal of a five trillion dollar economy for the country. The Navy Chief reminded on this occasion that the country’s development was based on the marine trade and naval power during the Maurya, Gupta and Chola empires.

India will become a five trillion dollar economy, which means marine freight movement will increase. The sea can transport huge cargo at a modest cost. Therefore, the importance of maritime transport will increase in the future and the Navy will contribute greatly to the security of this commercial transport, said, Admiral R Hari Kumar. Meanwhile, these statements by the Defence Minister and the Chief of the Navy have a background. Chinese spy ships are plying near Indian maritime boundaries. It is claimed that China has sent these ships to collect records of India’s missile tests. The Navy Chief had recently warned that the Navy is keeping a watchful eye on it. After that, the defence minister warned China by announcing that work on the country’s third aircraft carrier has begun. Earlier, the Defence Minister had announced that India is a country that provides total security in the Indo-Pacific region.
