Turkey declares military campaign against Kurds in Iraq and Syria

Ankara: Turkey has announced a military campaign against Kurds in Iraq and Syria after Kurdish groups were blamed for the bombings in Istanbul. After the announcement of this military action by Turkey, the city of Istanbul was rocked by explosions again on Tuesday night. Three cars were destroyed in the subsequent fire.

Moreover, this was the second explosion in Istanbul in three days. Due to the explosion in the Fatih area, the surrounding cars caught fire. It is claimed that the Greek female tourist suffered minor injuries. Turkish authorities have not held anyone responsible for the blast. Also, unlike on Sunday, it has not been alleged that the explosion was accidental. However, a strong military operation will be launched against the terrorists who bombed the city of Istanbul on Sunday, said a senior official in Erdogan’s government. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Internal Security Minister Suleyman Soylu blamed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party-PKK and affiliated Kurdish organizations in Syria for Sunday’s blast. The PKK, the YPG and other Kurdish groups in Syria have denied Turkey’s accusations. Turkey is not affected by it. On the contrary, a senior Turkish official warned of attacks on Kurdish positions in Iraq and Syria.

Moreover, Turkey has said that the Kurds in Syria are the most dangerous to Turkey’s security. It is claimed that the places of Afrin and Kobani in Syria will be on Turkey’s target. Turkish authorities have announced that the woman arrested in connection with the explosion in Istanbul was from the Syrian city of Kobani.

However, analysts in the Middle East say that Turkey’s security problem will not be solved by attacking the Kurds in Syria or Iraq. On the contrary, these analysts point out that the Turkish attacks could create a security problem for the Kurds and further escalate the conflict. Syria will be a dilemma for Turkey. Turkey will succeed in its military campaign in Syria. But after this, some lone travellers in Turkey will carry out attacks and it will be difficult for Turkey to prevent these attacks, Middle Eastern analysts have warned. Additionally, analysts claim that the problem of infiltration on the border of Turkey will also become more serious. But these warnings are unlikely to have a particular impact on Turkey.

Furthermore, Turkey is carrying out an aggressive military campaign against the Kurds in Syria. For that, Turkey is advancing the cause of its country’s security. But in reality, Turkey wants to seize the oil-rich territory of Kurdish-dominated Syria. Thus, Turkey was accused of attacking the Kurds in Syria. In such a situation, the explosion in Istanbul seems to have given Turkey another opportunity to take military action against the Kurds in Syria.
