MOSSAD agents arrested in Syria and Lebanon

Damascus/ Beirut: Over the last two weeks, the strikes on air bases in Syria have forced Syria and Hezbollah to become restless. In the last two days, on the orders of Hezbollah, more than 25 agents of Israel’s Intelligence unit (MOSSAD) have been arrested from Syria and Lebanon. This includes a doctor and officials of the Syrian army and air force, as claimed by a Human Rights group based in the UK.

Moreover, large-scale attacks have been carried out on airports in Syria’s capital, Damascus and Aleppo. The air base in Aleppo was targeted twice, whereas the Tartus base situated in western Syria has been attacked by rockets. Syria has accused Israel of executing these attacks. As per Syria, the Damascus international airport was targeted by Israeli fighter jets. The satellite images show that Aleppo’s airstrip and ammunition storage area have been destroyed.

There has been no loss of life, as per Syria’s statement. However, the human rights group claimed three lives were lost in these attacks. The human rights group has claimed that Israel’s fighter jets have destroyed bases of Iran and Iran-affiliated terrorist groups and devastating ammunition stockpiles in Tartus. Aggravated by this, the Assad regime has vowed to make Israel a heavy price. However, it seems that Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, has taken the responsibility to counter Israel. Based on orders from Hezbollah, MOSSAD agents have been detained, which includes officials of the Syrian military and air force. More than 30 suspects were arrested by Syrian authorities, which included 15 civilians. Later some of them were released, but nearly 27 suspects are still in custody. A Syrian doctor was detained at the Beirut airport. Hezbollah affiliate newspaper Al-Akhbar has reported that the arrested Syrian doctor was in pursuit of collecting the water and sewage line maps. The newspaper has claimed that two brothers of the arrested doctors are also working for Israeli intelligence.

Previously, Iran accused MOSSAD of attacks on its nuclear projects and suspicious blasts. Iran’s media had announced the arrest of Israeli spies. Later Israel made a sensational revelation that MOSSAD successfully infiltrated the Iranian army and intelligence units.
