40,000 lethal chemical weapons discovered in six hours using Artificial Intel

London: A pharmaceutical company from the United States has claimed to have discovered 40,000 lethal chemical weapons in just six hours using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company said that the AI technologies used in pharmaceutical manufacturing were used for this research. It is clarified that the compound of VX, the highly deadly nerve agent during the process, was also discovered. As per the information, these chemical weapons were found during the experiments being carried out to prepare for the conference on the possible misuse of AI.

Spiez Laboratory Switzerland organised an international conference on ‘Weaponised Chemicals’. Collaboration Pharmaceuticals carried out one ‘Thought Experiment’ to prepare for the conference. The company used AI named Megacin for virtual designing and testing the new drugs in the experiment. The AI was given the database of all the available chemicals globally.

Megacin had been given the task of searching for poisonous chemicals and compounds. In just six hours, the US company informed that this AI searched 40,000 factors and combinations that could make chemical weapons. This experiment has been published in the science weekly ‘Nature’. Researcher Fabio Urbina claimed that the speed of AI technology to search chemical weapons was astonishing. Urbina expressed concerns saying, ‘Ours is a small company and the AI technology is very recent. Despite this, the ability of AI to search chemical weapons in such large numbers is alarming. Urbino expressed fears that hundreds of companies like us must be using AI for drugs and chemical manufacturing.’

For the last few years, a considerable debate has been going on globally over the use of AI. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Senior Statesman Henry Kissinger and leading billionaire Elon Musk have consistently warned regarding AI. It has been warned that using this technology will pose a challenge to humanity and will also be a cause for conflicts. The US company’s discovery of lethal chemicals during the experiment only endorses these claims.
