Iranian parliament labels US military as “terrorists”

The bill was overwhelmingly approved in the Iranian parliament, and it also declared that the assistance given to the US military from the Middle East countries would also be considered to be supporting terrorism. Last week, the United States had declared the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terror outfit. In response, Iran had designated the US Central Command (CENTCOM) as a terrorist. However, the Iranian parliament went one step further and made this major announcement, on Tuesday. The Iranian parliament blamed that not only CENTCOM, but the entire US military to be terrorists. The resolution was passed with a majority of 215 against 173.

It is claimed that this decision by the Iranian parliament is a warning to the Middle East countries Saudi, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Oman, assisting the United States. A demand for an action against Saudi, Israel and Bahrain, supporting the US sanctions against Iran, was also made.

Following the decision by the Iranian parliament, Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei dismissed the announcement of fresh US sanctions. Iranian supremo Khamenei said that there certainly would be retaliation against this decision of new sanctions by the US. He further said that the US sanctions would not affect the Iranian oil exports and Iran will continue its oil exports. “The United States may have closed one avenue for Iranian exports, but many other avenues are open to Iran,” Khamenei lambasted that the United States cannot hurt Iran.

Nevertheless, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani claimed that the talks with Trump would be possible, only if he withdrew the sanctions imposed against Iran and apologised.
