Riyadh/Sana: The Houthi rebels targeted six Saudi cities, including the capital Riyadh. The Houthis informed that the fuel projects of Saudi company ARAMCO were targeted with drones and missiles. There was a major explosion of the fuel stock at the project in Jeddah. The military front of the Arab countries criticised that these Houthi attacks threaten international fuel security and weaken the backbone of the global economy. After that, the Arab front carried out airstrikes on the locations of the Houthi rebels.

But Saudi has warned that these Houthi attacks are affecting oil production. Saudi had warned that if the United States and its allies do not stop these attacks on Saudi oil projects, the oil exports can be affected. The Biden administration ignored the attacks by the Houthi rebels. The Houthi rebels launched fresh drone and missile attacks on other Saudi cities after this on Friday. Houthis targeted oil projects in the capital, Riyadh and Jeddah, Jizan, Najran, Ras Tanura and Rabigh cities of Saudi. Saudi Arabian allies the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain strongly criticised the Houthi attacks. Whereas, the military front of the Arab countries warned the western countries.

The United States and the United Kingdom have criticised these attacks by the Houthi rebels.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration is pressurising Saudi to increase oil production for the European countries cornered given the Russia-Ukraine war. But Saudi has turned down the US demand. It becomes significant to note that the Houthi rebels have increased the frequency of drone and missile attacks on Saudi oil projects after this Saudi denial.
