China would further pressurise European countries if Lithuania doesn’t support it, warn European lawmakers

Strasbourg/Beijing: The members of the European parliament warned that if the European Union does not retaliate against the unannounced trade embargo against Lithuania, China will continue to consistently coerce and pressurise the European countries in the coming times. The lawmakers from the European Union (EU) have written a letter addressed to the EU chief warns that the Chinese communist regime will try and weaken the European unity using the Lithuania incident. Only last month, it had been exposed that the Chinese communist regime was pressurising the European countries and companies on the Lithuanian issue.

Last year, in November, Taiwan opened its diplomatic office in Lithuania. China became more aggressive after starting the de facto embassy in Lithuania as ‘The Taiwanese Representative Office’. Unannounced sanctions have been imposed on the products imported from Lithuania. The ‘Cargo Service Train’ operating between China and Lithuania also has been suspended.

Chinese companies are refusing to accept courier parcels destined for Lithuania. A few days ago, it was reported that a Chinese bank froze the bank accounts of a Lithuanian entrepreneur. For the last few days, the European companies operating in Lithuania have faced Chinese pressure. The Chinese departments refused to accept European products with Lithuanian components and were sent back.

Although the EU and the leading countries have verbally supported Lithuania, no action has been taken and no warning has been issued against China. The lawmakers have expressed a concern that the Chinese regime, confident that the EU will not take any action, is increasing pressures further in Europe.
