As informed by a leading Israeli daily, the war exercises Chariots of Fire will start on the 29th of May. The war exercises, which will last for almost a month, will focus on targeting Iran’s nuclear projects and ultrasensitive locations. This will become the first war exercise organised by Israel to target Iranian nuclear projects. The exercises that will start in north Israel’s border regions will spread up to the Mediterranean Sea. It is claimed that most Israeli defence forces units will be participating in the exercise. As per the Israeli daily, this increases the significance of the exercise.

The Israeli air force has made special preparations for the exercise. The Israeli air force has selected the target locations using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Iranian nuclear projects. As per the Israeli newspaper, the number of targets increased by 400% using AI. The Israeli military claimed that using this technology would reduce civilian casualties. Therefore, as in the Israeli daily, the Chariots of Fire exercise becomes very important and unique.

US tanker aircraft will be performing the task of refuelling the Israeli fighter jets in mid-air. There are indications that there will be no further US participation in the exercise. This information is being revealed while Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz is visiting the United States. Defence Minister Gantz will be holding talks with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Israeli media claimed that the visit of Defence Minister Gantz was to deliver a message to the United States to stay away from the Iran nuclear deal.

Israeli Chief of Defence Staff General Aviv Kochavi had warned in the last year itself that Israeli forces should prepare for an attack on Iran. General Kochavi had suggested that a detailed plan for attacks on the Iranian nuclear projects and military bases should be prepared. As per the Israeli media, the war exercise Chariots of Fire is a part of the same preparations. Some Israeli analysts have claimed that with this exercise, Israel is issuing a warning to Iran, alongside the United States, which is desperate to sign the nuclear deal with Iran.
