On Sunday, a few Chinese factories in the Hlaing Tharyar region were set on fire. As per the report published in the Chinese mouthpiece Global Times, it is claimed that 32 factories have been targeted with arson and attacks to date. The protestors obstructed the fire tenders coming to douse the fires. The military started its action to clear the roads blocked by the protestors. The soldiers opened fire on the protestors at this time. More than 30 protestors were killed, and many others were injured in the firing.

Along with this action, it has also been revealed that the military took some aggressive actions in the other parts of the city. The pro-democracy groups and the social media posts said that nearly 20 protestors were killed in these actions. Following the action taken in Yangon and the surrounding areas, the military has imposed Martial Law. The action taken on Sunday was the biggest and the cruellest action of the military in the last one and a half months, and as per local sources, more than 60 people were killed, and more than 125 people were injured.

The spate of actions started on Sunday continued till Monday. On Monday, five protestors were killed in action in the Myingyan city. Following the action, the military imposed Martial Law in four areas.

Meanwhile, the pro-democracy leaders in Myanmar have given a call that the protests being held against the military are a revolution and have appealed that people should continue the fight using every means to protect themselves. The intense repercussions of the Sunday action are being felt on social media as well as the international media, and reactions that this is a horrible development are being received.
