Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused the United States of being directly involved in the ‘Nord Stream’ fuel pipeline explosions built to supply fuel gas from Russia to Europe. Lavrov made this statement during an interview with a news channel. Last month, US senior official Victoria Newland responded in the US Congress over the ‘Nord Stream’ accident.
Moreover, Nord Stream 1 is the main gas pipeline from Russia to Europe. But last year, the supply through this pipeline was stopped due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Russia had taken an aggressive stance that it would start supplies only if the European countries lifted the sanctions. Although the ‘Nord Stream 2’ fuel line was built and ready, the supply was not started due to the refusal of permission by the new German government. Even when the fuel supply was stopped, there were incidents of fuel gas leakage at the end of September.
After that, information about an explosion in the ‘Nord Stream’ fuel pipeline came to light. Western countries had accused Russia of this matter. But Russia rejected the allegations against it. Russian spokespersons alleged that the ‘Nord Stream’ fuel gas pipeline explosion in September was a conspiracy between the United Kingdom and the United States.
Dmitry Peskov has said that Russia’s intelligence services have evidence that British military experts are providing instructions for the attack.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin also said that the explosion was a terrorist attack and allegation that a British agency was behind it. The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the affected areas belong to NATO member countries and are controlled by the United States. Russia also demanded that if Europe decided to investigate the matter in depth, it should also include the United States as a suspect.
