Furthermore, Borrell warned that the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan and its aftermath has come to the fore in photographs and other media posts. The international community must ask itself what exactly went wrong with Afghanistan. But at the same time, it would be unfair to allow China and Russia from taking advantage of the situation in Afghanistan. Suppose they support the Taliban and take control of Afghanistan. In that case, no one will care for the European Union.’ He further added, ‘If we want to stop Russia and China, the European Union must immediately intervene in the situation in Afghanistan’.
