While the Iran nuclear deal is in its final stages, a special meeting of Arab countries begins in EgyptFor the past 16 months, there have been claims that negotiations on the ongoing nuclear deal between the US and Iran have started to succeed. This nuclear deal can be announced after discussions between the United States and European countries. In such a situation, Egypt has organised an urgent meeting of Arab countries. Along with Egypt’s President el-Sisi, UAE’s King Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Jordan’s King Abdullah, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Iraq’s Interim Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi are included in the meeting. The meeting of Arab countries is said to have started the discussion on the issues of energy and foodgrain crisis caused by the conflict in Ukraine. Apart from Iraq, which was present at this meeting, all four other countries have established cooperation with Israel. International analysts draw attention to this. Although not openly acknowledged, it surfaces that there is a strong possibility that the issue of Iran’s nuclear deal will be on the table in this discussion of these Arab countries in Egypt.

Moreover, the US and European countries have been struggling to solve the fuel problem caused by the war in Ukraine by signing a new nuclear deal with Iran. The European countries had given a decisive warning to Iran for this. There seemed to be a change in Iran’s stance after that. As expected, Iran had announced that the new nuclear deal would be concluded. However, the path to the nuclear agreement is not so easy. There are clear indications of a strong reaction from Israel, Saudi and other Gulf countries.

While the Iran nuclear deal is in its final stages, a special meeting of Arab countries begins in EgyptThe discussion of the Arab countries going on in Egypt is an indication of that. Besides, Israel has constantly warned that if the US and Western countries sign a nuclear deal with Iran, the way for this country’s nuclear weapons will be paved. The leadership of Saudi Arabia had threatened that their country would not be left behind if Iran got this right. Other Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia, had also recorded similar reactions to Iran’s nuclear deal.

It had revealed after President Biden came to power that the US would again take the initiative for a nuclear deal with Iran. Israel then took swift steps to strengthen its cooperation with the Arab Gulf countries. The results of this have been seen, and it seems that a strong lead appears to build up among Arab countries against Iran in the Gulf. The meeting of the Arab Gulf countries in Israel’s Negev in March illustrates this. It will soon be clear whether this ongoing meeting in Egypt is the next part of this anti-Iran alliance.
