Russian State Duma member warns to smash Poland if it interferes in Ukr

Moscow/Warsaw/Kyiv: Senior Russian leader Vladimir Shamanov warned Russia would crush Poland if it tried to interfere in the Ukraine war. Poland has forwarded a proposal to send a peacekeeping force into Ukraine. Before Shamanov, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had warned that if a peacekeeping force is deployed in Ukraine, a conflict will flare-up between Russia and NATO.

It is almost a month since Russia attacked Ukraine and the conflict is intensifying. Western countries are providing aid on a large scale to Ukraine, including humanitarian aid, weapons, and financial assistance. It is being said that Ukraine has also built a Foreign Legion comprising of foreign soldiers to fight against Russia. Now there is this additional proposal to deploy a peacekeeping force.

Poland will be presenting this proposal in the NATO meeting scheduled to start on Thursday. As per the proposal, peacekeeping forces with Poland soldiers and other NATO members will be formed. A minimum of 10,000 soldiers will be a part of the peacekeeping force. The Czech Republic and Slovenia also have taken the initiative for this proposal with Poland. A few days ago, senior leaders from these three countries had visited Ukraine. It is being said that things will be taken forward after the approval of the proposal by the United States.

Intense repercussions of the initiative taken by Poland and the other countries have been felt in Russia. Thus, the Russian foreign minister said that deploying a peacekeeping force would be a very rash and dangerous step. The Russian Foreign Minister also warned that at the same time, if such contingents of NATO soldiers reach Ukraine, a direct conflict between Russia and NATO will be sparked. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has ridiculed that the Polish leadership is foolish. Whereas, Shamanov, the deputy speaker of the Russian parliament, has threatened to crush Poland.

Deputy Speaker of the Russian parliament warned, ‘The time has come that the Russian leadership introduces the other countries to their boundaries. Poland should not think of coming even 10 metres inside the Russian or Ukraine border. Otherwise, the last phase of the Ukraine war will be fought on the Ukraine-Poland border. Intense attacks will be launched on Poland with hypersonic missiles.’

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has announced a supply of 6,000 new missiles to Ukraine. These include ‘Next Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapons’ and ‘Javelin’ missiles. The United Kingdom also announced defence assistance worth £25 million to Ukraine.
