Russian drones will attack heavily in Ukraine campaign

Moscow/Kyiv: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Russia would launch many drone attacks on Ukraine in the future. For the last three days, Russia has continuously attacked Ukraine with drones. President Zelensky warned that the coming nights would not be peaceful for the people of Ukraine. While Zelensky was making this claim, Ukraine’s rocket attacks in Donetsk sparked strong reactions in Russian circles. Analysts and bloggers who support President Putin have held Russian officials accountable for the attacks in the town of Makiivka and have aggressively demanded their ouster.

Moreover, Russia has stepped up its attacks in Ukraine in recent days. Cities like Kherson, the capital Kyiv, Kharkiv, and the Donbas region are continuously targeted. For this purpose, along with guns, rockets, tanks and missiles, drones are also being used on a large scale. In the last three days, Russia has struck more than 100 drones over Ukraine. Iranian-made Shahed drones have been used for this. Russia is said to have used more than 500 Iranian drones in its attacks so far.

Against this background, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, claimed that Russia would intensify its drone strikes in the future. ‘The main objective of the drone attacks is to destroy the air security system of Ukraine, the energy in Ukraine and the tolerance of the Ukrainian people. It has been reported that Russia will use Shahed drones on a large scale in the coming days. Drone attacks will continue for a long time,’ Zelensky warned. President Zelensky also realized that Ukraine’s next few nights would not be peaceful.

Meanwhile, Western media have reported an atmosphere of intense displeasure in Russia due to the rocket attacks in the city of Makiivka in the Donetsk region on Sunday night. The Ukrainian Army fired six HIMARS rockets at a military building in Makiivka. The entire building was destroyed in this attack. A batch of newly recruited soldiers of the Russian Army was stationed in this building. At the same time, a large stock of explosives was on the ground floor. Ukrainian officials claimed that as many as 400 Russian soldiers were killed in the attack.

However, the Russian Defense Force refuted this report and informed that 63 soldiers were killed in the attack. This is the first time in the conflict that Russia has confessed this. Pro-Putin analysts and bloggers have accused Russian military officials of being responsible for losing Russian soldiers and weapons. Some bloggers have claimed that the number of Russian soldiers killed is higher than the Defense Department figures. Displeasure has also been expressed that the said attack insulted the Russian system. Earlier, there emerged strong reactions from Russian circles after Russia’s withdrawal from the city of Kharkiv.
