Moscow: ‘Our opponents are watching; they periodically make statements that we don’t have this or that … I want to disappoint them. We have enough of everything,’ Dmitry Medvedev, the former President of Russia and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, warned.
More than 11 months have passed since the Russia-Ukraine conflict. During this period, Russia used a large number of tanks, rockets, drones, fighter planes and missiles. Besides, claims and photographs of many Russian tanks and other defence systems being destroyed by Ukraine were released. At the same time, British and other Western intelligence agencies claimed that Russia’s weaponry had lessened and missile stock was over. A few days ago, Ukraine’s system also said Russia had only 550 missiles.
Against this backdrop, Medvedev’s remarks become noteworthy. Also, the responsibility of the Military-Industrial Commission, which produced weapons for the Russian army during the war period, lies with Medvedev. It has also come to light that in the last few days, he visited various arms manufacturing factories in Russia. Therefore, Medvedev has fairly warned Ukraine and the West by making a statement about Russia’s weapons stockpile. Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin also visited some leading defence factories in Russia last month and gave special instructions regarding the grade and speed of the supply of weapons.
Meanwhile, the Defence Department of Russia has claimed that the Russian army has thwarted a major attack by Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia province. Ukraine had planned counterattacks on the cities of Melitopol and Berdiansk. However, officials said Russia had already foiled Ukraine’s plans by launching attacks. Russian forces have advanced towards two important towns in Zaporizhzhia in the last few days.
Moreover, Russia’s advanced destroyer Admiral Gorshkov has entered the Atlantic Ocean, and the Russian Defence Ministry has claimed that this destroyer has practised with the help of the Zircon hypersonic missile.
