Pakistan should stop terrorism before lecturing on peace: Punjab CM Captain Amrinder Singh

Chandigarh: – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Captain Amrinder Singh said that if Pakistan sincerely intends to establish peace with India, it should first stop intrusions in the Indian borders and terrorism. There is a need for the Pakistani Military chief to act against this before appealing to bury the hatchets and lecturing on peace. Without that, India cannot trust Pakistan and soften its stand regarding Pakistan.

Pakistan is smuggling arms and heroin through drones across its border with the Indian state of Punjab. The Punjab CM put his finger rightly on the sham while making efforts to create anarchy in Punjab. Pakistan, on the other hand, is talking of peace. CM Amrinder Singh also pointed out that Pakistan was taking the lives of Indian soldiers while he himself served in the Indian Army and the spate continues even today.

Captain Amrinder Singh said that General Bajwa should order the ISI to stop its anti-India activities. Captain Amrinder Singh also posed a question, ‘Does this proposal forwarded by General Bajwa enjoy support from all the factions of the Pakistan army?’ Pakistan also should firmly tell China that it will not join hands with them in their anti-India activities on the Line of Actual Control. Amrinder Singh lashed out at Pakistan; he said otherwise India cannot trust Pakistan.

India has perpetually made peace efforts with Pakistan. Moreover, there is always unanimous support for peace in India. But India will not compromise on its security and integrity. Peace cannot be conditional. Terrorism supported by Pakistan is the biggest obstacle in the path of peace between India and Pakistan. Amrinder Singh lambasted Pakistan asking, ‘Is Pakistan willing to withdraw its support to the terrorists, to establish peace with India?’

Prime Minister Imran khan and military chief General Bajwa proposed talks to India, while speaking at a security-related meeting in Pakistan. General Bajwa has advised India to march towards the future, burying the old differences. Pakistan military chief laid down a condition that resolution of the Kashmir issue is necessary for this. Pakistan government was insistent that no talks are possible with India unless India reintroduces Article 370, awarding special status to Jammu-Kashmir. But now the Pakistan government and the military have changed its stand and the country is consistently demanding talks with India. Pakistan has also withdrawn the condition of a reintroduction of Article 370. Many in Pakistan do not agree with this change. But is it is being said that there is some crooked plan of this country behind this change.

Pakistan has proposed talks to match the time with US Secretary of State’s visit, Lloyd Austin to India. Pakistan will be able to accuse that although Pakistan had proposed peace, India is the one who is having a combative attitude. Therefore, a dense possibility is that Pakistan is trying to impress the Biden administration in the United States with this proposal. At the same time, Pakistan is grappled with the fear of being included in the blacklist of the Financial Action Task Force. The decision regarding this will be taken in the next few months. Before that, Pakistan wants to improve its status by holding talks with India.

Pakistan has even expressed willingness to open a channel connecting India with the central Asian countries. Indian foreign ministry has still not given any official reaction on this. But the Punjab CM seems to have shown Pakistan the mirror, with a muzzling reply.
