Russian defence department alleges Monkeypox spreading due to US Biolabs in NigeriaIgor Kirillov, the chief of the Russian defence department’s ‘Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence Troupes’, has levelled this serious accusation. The Russian news agency Sputnik carried the information regarding the accusations made by Kirillov. WHO had said that the origin of Monkeypox was in Nigeria. Kirillov accused, ‘It is not a mere coincidence that the United States has a minimum of four Biolabs operating in Nigeria. The Monkeypox has originated from these Biolabs.’

Kirillov demanded that this become a serious matter and that WHO should investigate the matter. Even in the past, it has been exposed that the United States does not take the requisite safety precautions to contain the threat posed by these Biolabs. Kirillov accused that the US biological administration is not effective. Kirillov pointed out that even terrorists can take advantage of this laxity.

Kirillov pointed out that no one has paid attention to the activities in the US institutions’ US Food and Drug Administration, ‘The US Army Medical Research Institute of Influenza Disease in Maryland’ and ‘The Centre for Vaccine Research in Pennsylvania’, operating in the field of biotechnology. Russian defence department alleges Monkeypox spreading due to US Biolabs in NigeriaNo one has questioned the United States over them.’ Kirillov also accused all the Biolabs are violating the regulations regarding viruses laid down by the WHO in 1996.

Meanwhile, Russia has accused US Biolabs were operating even in Ukraine, but they were closed down immediately following the Russian attack. Russia also claimed that these US Biolabs in Ukraine used Ukrainian students in their experiments and they were treated like rats in a laboratory. The United States has dismissed these accusations. In this scenario, Russia has levelled serious accusations against Russia and has said that it will follow up on the matter. There could be responses to the Russian accusations from the other countries if the Monkeypox epidemic spreads rapidly.
