Mixed reactions to ‘Brexit’ at international level

Washington/ Moscow. Date 25 (News Agency) – Mixed and cautious reactions have been emerging on the international level following ‘Brexit’. While America has expressed to continue the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom, Russia has blamed British leadership’s intimidating and superficial policies for ‘Brexit’. Japan informed of plans to deal with the economic effects of ‘Brexit’. China stated that ‘Brexit’ represents Briton’s ‘losing mind set’.

Britain’s decision to leave the European Union is considered as a big shock at the international level. Britain being one of the leading countries in economics, business, defence as well as politics which means that Britain’s decision will have an impact on all these fields. Right now at an early stage, reactions from most of the top countries are mixed and slightly watchful.

American President Barack Obama stated that “The people of the United Kingdom have spoken, and we respect their decision.” He also affirmed that the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom is enduring, and the United Kingdom’s membership in NATO remains a vital cornerstone of US foreign, security, and economic policy.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that there are various reasons for Britain’s decision of Brexit and this is the country’s decision. He also added that no one likes to feed and subsidize weaker countries and be a care taker. Hundreds of thousands of Mideast refugees and the stand taken in terms of security has displeased British citizens. Putin has also snapped at British Government by saying that while handing the matters of the country and Europe, British leaders have adopted superficial and intimidating policies.

Japan has focussed on the economic effects of ‘Brexit’ and noted that measures will be planned in conjunction with the central bank and ‘G-7’ group. China’s government newspapers have published articles about the results of ‘Brexit’. In an article in ‘the Global Times’ British people have been accused of ‘losing mind set’. At the same time it also criticises that British citizens have now become part of a country that shuts itself from the outside world.

Turkish President Erdogan has lashed both European Union as well as Britain with a warning that if policies don’t change then many countries will be seen exiting from the EU. American Presidential candidate Donald Trump said that ‘Brexit’ is a result of mistaken policies regarding immigrants and border control.
