Israel and UAE will establish military cooperation in space

Dubai – As the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear and missile programs grows, military cooperation between Israel and the UAE also appears to be taking shape. A senior official of the Israeli aerospace industry claimed that Israel and the UAE have full potential to establish ‘military space’ cooperation. Last month, Israel and the UAE signed a cooperation agreement on space.

The International Astronautical Congress is being held in Dubai, UAE. Leading Israeli company Israel Aerospace Industries – IAI has participated in this. Senior IAI official Shlomi Sudri, present at the meeting, said that Israel and the UAE could establish military cooperation in space. Such cooperation with the UAE could be possible soon, claimed Sudri.

‘Israel and the UAE have a lot in common. Both are small countries and their interests depend on developments in their neighbouring countries. At the same time, the two countries have the potential to establish military cooperation in space’, said Sudri. Considering the threat posed by Iran, Israel and the UAE will establish military cooperation in space in the near future; he told an Israeli newspaper.

Last month, on October 20, Israel and the UAE signed a landmark agreement on space cooperation. But the agreement entirely focused on civilian research. Cooperation between Israel and the UAE has been growing steadily since the Abraham Accords, signed last year, prompting outrage from Iran. Iran had warned that the countries signing the Abraham Accords with Israel would have to face serious consequences.
