UAE cannot be secure by making deal with Israel, says Iran’s Foreign Minister

Tehran: – The rulers of UAE have a misconception that they are secured, after entering into friendly cooperation with Israel. Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif warned that UAE would not be secured by increasing cooperation with Israel. This is the second warning issued by Iran to UAE in the last ten days. Before this, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had warned UAE to be prepared for future consequences. Meanwhile, Iran has issued this warning to UAE hours before the visit of US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, to the Gulf countries.

Since the last few days, Iran has been continuously threatening UAE over the peace agreement signed with Israel. On Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, while speaking at a function in Tehran, lashed out at the concerned deal and issued a warning to UAE as well as Israel. UAE was of the opinion that with this agreement, Israel would provide security to the UAE, and it will be able to purchase weapons systems. But Zarif indicated that Israel was on the Iranian target saying that Israel was not capable of defending itself. Zarif claimed that therefore, UAE could not be secured by establishing cooperation with an already insecure Israel. Zarif reminded that security could not be purchased when there is a discord with neighbouring countries.

Iranian foreign ministry also targeted the UAE and Israel over the new developments. Iranian foreign ministry criticised the agreement between UAE and Israel as strategic foolishness, and Israel will soon realise its mistake. The Iranian foreign ministry claimed that this agreement would create a big front of opponents in the Gulf sector. The Iranian foreign ministry appealed to the Iranian people all around the globe to stand up against the cooperation and also incited the terrorist organisations Hamas and Islamic Jihad, along with the extremists in the Gulf, to oppose the cooperation.

On the 13th of August, US President Donald Trump announced the historical agreement between Israel and UAE. US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, will be visiting Israel and the Gulf countries for the implementation of the deal. It is being said that Secretary of State will be making efforts to get the other countries from the Gulf to establish cooperation with Israel, like UAE. Oman and Bahrain have already given positive indications. Against this background, the Iranian Foreign Minister seems to have warned the other Arab countries through the UAE.
