Tehran: Iran’s nuclear chief, Mohammad Eslami, announced that Iran has more than doubled its Uranium enrichment capacity. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation will reach Iran in the next few hours. During the visit, changes made by Iran to the nuclear program will be discussed. This Iranian announcement just before the visit is a warning issued to the United States and its allies.
A month ago, Rafael Grossi, chief of the IAEA, expressed concerns over the Iranian nuclear program. Grossi had accused Iran of achieving a Uranium enrichment capacity of up to 60%. A strong reaction had been received from Israel and the western countries after Grossi claimed that with this, Iran had reached very close to building a nuclear weapon. Israel had indicated attacking the locations linked to the Iranian nuclear program.
Even the European countries suggested that Iran remain transparent regarding its nuclear program. The announcement made by Eslami in this scenario becomes significant. Meanwhile, Saudi claimed that the Iranian progress in the nuclear program is alarming.
