European nations are secretly purchasing Russian fuel – alleges Japanese daily

Moscow: European nations, alongside the United States, are making big announcements to stop buying fuel from Russia, which has attacked Ukraine. The United States and European nations also tried to pressure India and China, buying fuel from Russia. European nations are claiming that buying fuel from Russia is equivalent to providing money to Russia for the Ukraine conflict. But Japan’s ‘Business Daily Nikkei’ published a report showing that all these claims and idealistic positions are hollow. According to this, European nations are buying Russian fuel through Greece not openly but secretly.

Photographs of one or two of these ships have been published. Japan’s ‘Business Daily Nikkei’ informed that one ship is from Greece and another is related to India. One of these photographs is dated August 24. Thus, using Greece, the European nations are meeting their needs by buying fuel from Russia stealthily. Last year, Russia supplied Greece with 4.34 million barrels of fuel oil. But this year, this quantity has gone up to 23.86 million barrels, and the ‘Business Daily Nikkei’ claimed that the amount of fuel supplied by Russia to Greece in a single year indicates differently.

Furthermore, Russian news agencies have highlighted this news and have put their finger on the double standards of European nations. Besides, there were reports that China exploits its situation by secretly delivering Russian fuel to European nations. This has exposed the European nations secretly buying Russian fuel and preaching to others not to buy Russian fuel. Nikkei has reported that Russian fuel reached the United Kingdom in June, amid claims that it is not buying fuel from Russia. Therefore, questions have also been raised about the British claims of taking an aggressive stance against Russia.

In European nations, the demand for fuel increases enormously in winter. Before that, Russia stopped supplying fuel gas to Europe, causing a stir in the European nations. As per the claims, the meeting that the European nations held to overcome this crisis failed. At the same time, a country like Germany is infuriated at not getting the expected cooperation from neighbouring countries like Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Poland on the issue of fuel gas usage and distribution.
