The Baloch rebels accepted the responsibility for the attacks on the military bases at Panjgur and Naushki. The significance of the warning issued to China after this increases further. Although the reports of this threat have appeared in the media now, it is revealed that the Baloch rebels had issued this warning during Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to China.

Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) had accepted the responsibility for the attacks on the Panjgur and Naushki military bases. BLF claimed that a minimum of 100 Pakistani soldiers were killed during this encounter, which lasted for nearly 60 hours at the Frontier Corps (FC) military bases of the Pakistan military. After that, the Baloch rebels threatened China for exploiting Balochistan in connivance with the Pakistan military.

The Baloch rebels threatened, ‘Just like Bangladesh, the Pakistan military intruded into Balochistan and carried out massacres, assaulting Baloch women and girls and looting Balochistan. China should stop supporting this Pakistan military. Otherwise, we will target Chinese interests again.’

The Pakistan military has been targeted in Balochistan for the last few days. Ten days ago, ten Pakistan soldiers had been killed in an attack by the Baloch rebels on a security post at Kech. But the attacks on Panjgur and Naushki military bases are considered the biggest and the most dreadful. Military analysts cited that the Baloch rebels kept the Pakistani special forces commandos at bay for nearly two days during these attacks. Mansoor Khan Mahsood, an Islamabad based analyst, claimed that this is a clear indication that the strength of the Baloch rebels has increased and this is a direct warning for China and Pakistan.

Moreover, Mahsood said that the Baloch rebels had delivered a clear message that the Chinese interests in Balochistan and other locations in Pakistan would not be safe. Mahsood pointed out that the Baloch rebels have reached as far as Lahore, Quetta, Karachi, and Gwadar to target Chinese interests. Mahsood expressed a concern that it has been exposed from the attacks last week that the Pakistan military was not ready to counter the attacks by the Baloch rebels.
