However, Canada is said to have decided to expel the Chinese diplomat after the Chinese regime refused to cooperate properly. “Foreign interference of any kind in Canada’s internal affairs will not be tolerated. Michael Chong, a former Union Minister and Member of Parliament, took an aggressive stand against the oppression of the Uyghurs by the Chinese regime. Chong took the initiative to introduce a resolution in parliament that the action against the Uyghurs was genocide. Chong also raised the issue of efforts to suppress and harass the ethnic Chinese community in Canada. Enraged by this, the Chinese regime-imposed sanctions on him. But instead of just relying on sanctions, the Chinese regime began trying to target Chong’s relatives and acquaintances in China. The Canadian media, as well as the opposition, continued to attack the government over the issue. Under pressure, the Canadian government is believed to have fired the Chinese official.
