The Libyan government has held Haftar’s rebels responsible for the attack. On the other hand, the insurgents counter alleged saying that they did not have any connection whatsoever with the attack while the Libyan government and Turkey were trying to frame them.

In the past few weeks, the number of airstrikes in and around Tripoli has increased. Turkish soldiers will be deployed in Tripoli in the next few days. Considering the circumstances, the Libyan government accused the Haftar-led LNA rebels of increasing the attacks on Tripoli to target the Turkish soldiers. Even the United Nations (UN) expressed concerns over the airstrikes carried out in Tripoli. Prime Minister al-Sarraj had thus deployed anti-aircraft guns for the Tripoli’s security.

The Libyan military released information that massive bombs were dropped from the military aircraft. The further claimed that the majority of the people killed in the attack were young trainees. Some of the injured are in a critical state, and the Libyan military was fearful of the number of casualties increasing. Additionally, the army blamed the rebels for the attacks asserting that they were trying to gain control over Tripoli.

Turkey and Qatar, countries supporting the Libyan government, have criticised the attack. The two countries termed the attacks as a war crime and have stated it necessitated a harsh action against the Haftar rebels. However, the Haftar’s spokesman claimed the rebel organisation was not connected to the attack in any way while counter alleging that the Libyan military had perpetrated the attack instead to create an anti-Haftar atmosphere on the international forum.

Meanwhile, Turkey is facing widespread criticism from the Arabic countries for the decision to deploy its military in the Libyan capital of Tripoli. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia and Egypt have criticised Turkey for using its military in Libya and aggravating the situation further.
