10,675 kg narcotics seized in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka

New Delhi: – 10,675 Kilograms of narcotic substances were seized in the raids, carried out in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Seized substances include Marijuana. It is said the value of the haul in the international market, will run in millions of Rupees.

It has been exposed that Marijuana was being cultivated in 4 acres of land, in the Rampura village of Karnataka and was being smuggled. Four people have been arrested in this connection and 9,872 Kilograms of Hashish has been seized. The value of the haul in the international market is said to be ₹40 million. 

Police arrested the three owners, on receiving a tipoff that Marijuana farming was being carried out at their farm. The owners informed the police that two years ago, they had leased the land to a person named Rudresh, through a broker. After that, the police raided the farm. 9,872 Kilograms of Hashish was seized from there. It has become clear that Rudresh was cultivating and smuggling Hashish, and the police have launched a search for him.  

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, 675 Kilograms of Hashish was seized from a truck, going from Andhra Pradesh to Odisha. The rains continuing since Tuesday had created a traffic snarl on the bridge at Vizinaygram. The traffic police were trying to clear the traffic jam. The truck was stuck in the traffic jam. After seeing the police, the truck driver escaped abandoning the truck. On investigation, 675 Kilograms was found in the truck cabin. The truck has a West Bengal registration plate. CH Laxmanrao, Police Inspector of the Parvatipuram Circle in Andhra Pradesh, informed that further investigations are on and the culprits will be apprehended soon.
