US military announces cyber and space command 'Triad' along with 'Spec

Washington: The US Army has created a new ‘Triad’ by combining the ‘special operations’ command with space and cyber. This announcement was made at the ‘Space and Missile Defence Symposium’ on Tuesday. Lt. Gen. Daniel Karbler informed about the new ‘Triad’ saying ‘With the help of expertise in cyber technology and special operations, the military’s space capabilities can be used more effectively. The capabilities on the individual level can be used more effectively given the new tri-structure.’ Lieutenant General Daniel Karbler is the head of the US Army’s Space and Missile Defence Command.

Moreover, US officials clarified that the purpose behind the new ‘Triad’ is to implement effective strategies and missions on the battlefield by combining the skills and capabilities of all the three departments, space, cyber and special operations, in the modern and changing warfare. Lieutenant General John Braga, a senior officer of the Army, pointed out that the US Army’s war strategy includes ‘multidomain operations’ and the new ‘Triad’ can have an important role in it.

By the end of the year, the US Army will conduct a multinational exercise called ‘Project Convergence 2022’. The concept of ‘Triad’ will be used in this exercise and the military officials indicated that the training has already started.
