Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned about ‘the harmfulness of the information campaign’ that Western media have launched. He said that this could trigger a dangerous conflict in the Persian Gulf. The Gulf region is strategically significant. But such harmful news could cause damage to the sector, the Russian Foreign Minister blamed.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov held talks over the phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian after the US newspaper published the news that Iran may attack Saudi Arabia. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the details of the talks with the Iranian Foreign Minister. Lavrov accused the Western media, including the US, of a disinformation campaign. Lavrov made aware that this could lead to conflict in the Gulf countries.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Lavrov is on a tour of the region to strengthen Russia’s cooperation with the Gulf countries. Reports have come to the fore that the Russian Foreign Minister will visit Egypt and UAE.
