US should demand explanations from China over North Korea’s nuclear program: Ex-US NSA John Bolton

Washington: – John Bolton, former US National Security Advisor (NSA), said that China has been evasive regarding the North Korean issues for many years. But the United States needs to change its policies about China in future. Besides, it must demand explanations from China over the North Korean nuclear program. Last week, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un threatened that North Korea could rock the world with direct missile attacks on the United States.

Since January, North Korea has tested missiles with various ranges in seven rounds. North Korea claimed that these included short-range, ballistic and hypersonic missiles. Moreover, a few days ago, the North Korean regime declared that a launchable missile test from a submarine was also conducted. North Korea followed these declarations with a statement that it owned hydrogen bomb intercontinental ballistic and hypersonic missiles.

Thus, against this background, former US NSA slammed the Biden administration. He warned that North Korea possessing intercontinental ballistic missiles is a massive threat to the United States. He also criticised that the Biden administration was not left with many options to tackle the North Korean nuclear program and the missile arsenal.

The US media had claimed that the speed of the North Korean nuclear and missile program had slowed down since 2017. But the US media pointed out that after the Biden administration took over the reins of the United States, North Korea’s confidence has boosted. Hence, it has started a spate of missile tests. Consequently, the statements made by Bolton endorse these claims made in the media.
