Afghanistan is under threat of being captured by the Taliban. Once Afghanistan falls in control of the Taliban, the country will become a hub for terrorists. Taliban is associated with dangerous international militant outfits. The United Nations had warned about the Taliban’s cooperation with Al-Qaeda in its recently published report. The Afghan envoy drew attention to the fact that the Taliban leaders were present during the ceremony when Amir Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Masood, the son of Osama bin Laden, was coronated as the Al-Qaeda chief.

The presence of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, alongside the Taliban, would be dangerous for the west. Moreover, envoy Mamundzay cited that it can also gravely impact Indian security. Over the last three months, 4000 have lost lives, and three lakhs have been displaced in the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan; Mamundzay expressed his utmost discontent. In such a situation, if the Taliban gains control of Afghanistan, the country will have to lose everything it earned over the last 20 years, warned Mamundzay.

China is eager to play an active role in Afghanistan. These are the constant indications given by China. Also, recently, China President Xi Jinping appealed Taliban to stop violence in Afghanistan. With the help of Pakistan, China is making vigorous movements to loot the natural wealth in Afghanistan, warned the Western analysts. Against this background, the warning issued by the Afghan envoy to India stands significant.

Meanwhile, news had surfaced that India had carried out discussions with the Taliban in an effort to retain its vested interests in Afghanistan. India should adopt a neutral stance and avoid cooperating with the Kabul government in Afghanistan, demanded the Taliban. Moreover, the Afghan government has been consistently saying that it needs the assistance of the Indian army to combat the Taliban.
