Ukraine slams statements of French President Macron regarding Russia  

Paris/Moscow/Kyiv: – French President Emmanuel Macron advised that Russia should not be insulted in respect of the Ukraine conflict. It will be necessary to establish relations with Russia through diplomatic channels after the conflict is over. An intense reaction has been received from Ukraine over these statements of the French President. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba fired a salvo that France, which is appealing not to insult Russia, has insulted itself.

Moreover, French President Emmanuel Macron presented his country’s stand on the Russia-Ukraine conflict during an interview with the French media. Macron clarified that the French role in the conflict is a mediator for peace. French President Macron said that he had spent a lot of time and energy to ensure that the conflict does not get transformed into a comprehensive conflict. I don’t even have the note of how many times I have spoken to President Putin since December. But I have spoken to him for at least 100 hours. These talks were being held at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. 

The French President noted that he had repeatedly pointed out to the Russian President that the attack on Ukraine was a historic mistake. Macron claimed that President Putin had been isolated given the Ukraine attack. Saying that a significant flare-up of the conflict has to be prevented under any circumstances, President Macron said that France would continue its peace efforts.   

A strong reaction has emanated from Ukraine over the statements of the French President. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba fired a salvo of criticism at the French President, saying that with the appeal to avoid insulting Russia, France has insulted itself and the other countries with a similar stand as it is Russia that is insulting itself. We must show Russia its place. This will establish peace and many lives will be saved. Along with Ukraine, some US Congressmen also have expressed displeasure over the statements of the French President.
