Two more US warships head for Israel after the deployment of aircraft carriers

Washington: After deploying two of the US’s largest aircraft carriers, which are known as sailing bases, with their fleet to the Mediterranean Sea, the United States sent two more advanced warships for Israel’s security. These warships have left the Persian Gulf for deployment in the maritime area close to Israel. These include the USS Bataan amphibious assault ship and about 2,400 Marines. Besides, claims have been made in the US media that this deployment is made to free the US citizens based in Gaza, Israel and Lebanon. However, the US officials are saying that if necessary, these warships can target Hamas-Hezbollah, which is threatening Israel with war.

IsraelMoreover, the USS Gerald Ford, equipped with about 5,000 troops, 75 fighter aircraft, four air-launched missile launcher systems and 13 anti-aircraft guns, is deployed close to the Israeli maritime area. The aircraft carrier has camped away from the range of Gaza’s Hamas and Lebanon’s Hezbollah rockets.

In such a situation, the aircraft carrier USS Dwight Eisenhower, larger than the USS Ford, left Virginia for Israel on Saturday. The warship has 6,000 troops, 90 aircraft and helicopters, seven missile launchers, anti-submarine torpedoes and electronic warfare.

Along with this aircraft carrier, a fleet of destroyers and submarines will be deployed in the maritime area close to Israel in the next few days. Additionally, there have been claims that with the deployment of the USS Ford and the USS Eisenhower, the US has deployed two of its ‘floating military bases’ in the Mediterranean Sea. Also, the US stated that this deployment was made to support the Israeli struggle against Hamas. Apart from this, John Kirby, a senior White House Security Committee official, had informed that these two warships would not be involved in the anti-Iran conflict with Israel.

Alongside this, the US Company, Radon, was reported to have sent a stockpile of interceptors for Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system. In addition, the Gulf media claimed that US military aircraft had reached Israel with a large stock of weapons. US Defense Department officials announced a new deployment for Israel in such a situation. Furthermore, the amphibious aircraft carrier USS Bataan, which arrived in the Persian Gulf last month, has left for Israel with the USS Carter Hall destroyer.

Of these, 2,400 US Navy Marines are stationed on the Bataan warship. Pentagon officials have said that these Marines can be used to protect US citizens stranded in the Gaza Strip, Israel and Lebanon. In addition, the USS Mesa Verde, a US amphibious warship stationed in Spain, has also sailed towards the Mediterranean Sea. Due to this, there will be a swarm of US warships close to Israel’s maritime territory in the next five days. Besides, there are reports of UK destroyers also heading towards Israel.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration has said that US warships will not be involved in the Israel-Hamas or Israel-Hezbollah conflicts. However, by removing warships stationed in the Persian Gulf and deploying them close to Israel, the US seems to be warning Hamas and Hezbollah.
