US Defense Department sets up task force for studying UFOs

Washington: – Against the background of the information consistently being received regarding aliens and flying saucers, since the last few years, the US defence department has set up a task force. David Norquist, US Deputy Secretary of Defence, announced the formation of The Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF). Along with the defence department, the Office of Naval Intelligence also will be participating in the task force. The statement issued by the defence department states that this task force has been set up in view of the threat to US security from the Unidentified Flying Saucers. 2017 was the first time that the United States confessed that research regarding flying saucers was being conducted.

The US defence department published a statement informing the formation of UAPTF. The US defence department clarified that the defence department had formed UAPTF to gather more information regarding the origin, their structure and movements of the Unidentified Foreign Objects (UFO). Keeping appropriate information and analysing the data, recognising that these movements of these UFOs can pose a threat to the US national security, will be the main objective of the UAPTF. The UAPTF will collect requisite information regarding any previous sightings of the flying saucers, in the US airspace.

Last year, in September, the US Navy, for the first time, confessed that the videos of the UFOs were genuine. Tom DeLonge, To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science and the New York Times, had jointly published the concerned videos in 2017 and 2018. Thereafter, former US Senator Harry Reid had demanded an inquiry into the matter. It was exposed that Pentagon had already started an independent inquiry. Reports had also been published that the US defence department had shared the information with selected members of the Congressional Committee.

Following that, in April and May, the US defence and Navy released a whopping 11 videos of the UFOs. These included three videos released by the US defence department and eight videos were released by the US Navy. These videos are of UFO sightings in the years 2004, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Most of the sightings were in the marine limits near Virginia and North Carolina states. It was said that in some of the sightings, the objects were shaped like a drone or missile.

In December 2017, for the first time, the US defence department confessed that the research regarding UFOs was being conducted. The US defence department was forced to admit, following the disclosures made by former US intelligence official Luis Elizondo. At that time, the US defence department had informed that ‘Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program’ had been implemented from 2007 to 2012 to study UFOs. Whereas, last year, US President Donald Trump, during an interview with the news channel Fox News had stated that he does not believe in UFOs, but anything is possible while answering a query regarding the UFOs.

Against all this background, the formation of a task force by the US defence department for the study of UFOs becomes a significant development. Therefore, the indications are that this development will bring the issue, regarding UFOs and aliens, once again, on the anvil.
