After ceasefire talks fail, Sudan rocked by airstrikes again

Jeddah/Khartoum/Istanbul: Talks between Sudan’s military and paramilitary forces, brokered by Saudi Arabia, have stalled. Both groups have claimed that they will successfully take control of Sudan. Subsequently, on Monday, the capital Khartoum was shaken by new air attacks. Meanwhile, Turkey has expressed outrage over firing its ambassador’s vehicle and announced the relocation of its embassy in Khartoum.

The exact number of victims of Sudan’s civil war, which has been raging for the past 25 days, has not been released. But Western media are claiming that the death toll may have exceeded 700. More than 100,000 Sudanese have reportedly migrated. So far, the United Nations, the United States, Saudi Arabia and the African Union have tried a ceasefire effort. But the two groups are not ready for a ceasefire, and the conflict in Sudan is expected to escalate.  
 

Meanwhile, two days ago, the Turkish ambassador’s vehicle was fired upon in Khartoum. Ambassador Ismail Kobanoglu survived. But Turkey took serious note of this incident and announced that it would relocate its embassy from Khartoum to Port Sudan. This is the second attack on Turkey in Sudan in the last two weeks. Earlier, there was a firing on a Turkish aircraft.
