Protest in Pakistan against the court by government supporters

ProtestIslamabad: Prominent political parties in Pakistan hold protests for granting favours to Imran Khan. There were reports of a protester gathering outside the Supreme Court building, which turned violent. There are plans to form committees to get the Chief Justice of Pakistan impeached. While some have demanded in that Parliament to publicly hang Imran Khan.

Maryam Nawaz, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League, the ruling party, has criticized the Supreme Court for murdering the ethos of justice by favouring Imran Khan in providing bail and relief from all cases. She also warned nationwide to protest the judgement. Accordingly, protests were held on Monday, with incidences of violence in some places.  

ProtestThis has created tensions and potentially fierce conflicts between the 13 political parties supporting the government against Imran Khan and his supporters. The Pakistani army and the government seem poised against Imran Khan and the judiciary. While there are demonstrations against Imran Khan targeting the Supreme Court for judgment favouring him, a committee is formed to get the Chief Justice impeached.

Imran Khan has accused the establishment of detaining him and his supporters to get his party blacklisted eventually. Imran Khan accused the Pakistani army of plans to get him jailed for 10 years. His opponents claim his statement is an act of treason, as Imran Khan is speaking the enemy’s language.
