China’s image in the international community is still negative and flawed; Pew Research Centre report concludes

Washington/ Beijing: Last month, China President Xi Jinping had conveyed the message to communist party leaders and officials to portray China as a lovable and polite nation. Even though the leaders and officials were serious about this message by Jinping, other nations did not care for it as much. As per the report of Pew Research Centre, globally, the image of China remains negative and flawed. While the Chinese Communist Party has been applauding itself for completing a centenary, the release of this report draws attention.

The survey conducted in the United States, Europe alongside 17 prime nations in the Asia Pacific proves that China’s image remains negative. This survey was conducted in nine European nations alongside the United States and Canada. It was also carried out in six Asia Pacific countries. Over 88% of people in Japan have expressed a negative opinion about China. Besides, 80% of people from Sweden, Europe have expressed disdain for China.

While expressing discontent about China, it has come to the fore that the international community is not hopeful about Jinping’s leadership. Except for Singapore, civilians in 16 other countries have clarified that they dislike Jinping leadership. 10% of civilians in Japan and 12 % in Sweden said that Jinping leadership is inappropriate. Moreover, about 80% of civilians have expressed that the Chinese regime does not allow its citizens the freedom of expression and other human rights. The discontent on this issue is the most in the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Australia and South Korea.

As the discontent about China is rising over Jinping’s leadership and human rights, the number of those recording positive opinions about the United States is rising, reported the Pew Research Centre. Over 70% of civilians in South Korea, Japan and Italy have presented positive opinions about their relation with the United States and President Joe Biden. However, there’s an intense contempt among the international community on the Coronavirus pandemic, Hong Kong and the South China Sea. The Pew Research Centre report confirms it.
