Chinese Communist Party passes resolution tightening Xi Jinping’s grip over China

Beijing: – President Xi Jinping’s grip on the country is said to have been tightened, following a special resolution passed by China’s ruling Communist Party on Thursday. This is the third time in the history of the Communist Party that a resolution known as ‘The Document’ has been passed. The Communist Party had earlier given a special resolution in 1945 for the party’s founder Mao and then in 1981 for Deng Xiaoping.

The Central Committee of the ruling Communist Party of China’s four-day session was recently held in the capital city Beijing. In the final stages of the convention, about 350 members of the Central Committee passed a resolution granting a key position to Jinping. ‘Xi Jinping’s ideology is the essence of Chinese culture. This ideology is critical and has given a new impetus to China as a nation. The Communist Party, the Chinese military and citizens of all ethnic groups, need to stand united around the Central Committee of the party, headed by Comrade Xi Jinping. The communist party said that all should work together to implement the new era of socialism, which has been designed by Xi Jinping and incorporated with Chinese characteristics.

The resolution, passed in Jinping’s name, is an attempt by the Chinese Communist Party to rewrite history and keep the future Jinping centric, claims Hong Kong-based analyst Jean-Pierre Cabestan. Analysts also point out that Xi Jinping, who has taken over the reins of the Communist Party and China since the decade, has, over the past few years, consistently taken decisions to tighten his grip over the party, the military and the country.

In 2018, Jinping cancelled the age and term for the presidency. He was then forced to incorporate his policies and ideas into the Communist Party’s ideology as the ‘Xi Jinping Thought’. Jinping succeeded in taking over the supreme commander of the Central Military Commission, which controls the People’s Liberation Army. Now, analysts claim, Jinping has strengthened his position in the party and the country by adding his name to the ranks of veteran leaders such as Mao and Xiaoping. There are also indications that Jinping’s move will create a ‘leadership cult in China again.
