Satoshi Suzuki, the Japanese Ambassador to India, supported the Indian stand during the discussions held with Harsh Shringla, the Secretary, with the foreign ministry. The stand taken by India for the security of Line of Actual Control is correct. Japan wants this dispute to be resolved amicably. But Suzuki registered his protest against Chinese actions by saying that Japan will be opposed to the unilateral activities near the Line of Actual Control to change the situation there.

The Japanese Ambassador praised the bravery shown by the Indian soldiers in the Galwan Valley. A special joint naval exercise was held between India and Japan in the Indian Ocean. Within a few days of this exercise, the Japanese Ambassador supported India regarding the situation in Ladakh. At the same time, the Japanese Ambassador criticised the expansionist policies of China. Even in the past, Japan had supported India in the border dispute issue. India and Japan, to democratic countries from Asia, have joined hands against the imperialistic policies of China, and China has time and again alleged that this union is only against China. But both India and Japan have consistently clarified that the collaboration between the countries is for constructive work and to maintain peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
