The International Defence Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) of the Israeli defence ministry revealed this information. This Israeli weapons export may look minuscule in front of the larger economies like the United States, China and Russia. But as per Gulf media, considering the size of the Israeli economy and the names of the countries purchasing from Israel, the increase in weapons export cannot be ignored.

European countries accounted for 41% of the arms exports, while those in the Asia-Pacific region accounted for 34% annually. Whereas, for the first tim0e, Arab countries featured in the list of weapons purchasers list of Israel. SIBAT clarified that UAE and Bahrain accounted for 7% of Israeli weapons export this year. As per the Israeli media, this was possible only given the Abraham Accord signed between Israel and these Arab countries in 2020.

UAE and Bahrain, aware of the threats posed by Iran and its affiliated terrorist groups, are cooperating with Israel. Israeli air defence systems have proved effective against rocket and missile attacks. Therefore, the demand for these systems is growing. Israeli and Gulf media are claiming that the Israeli weapons export will grow further in the coming times and the Arab countries will be the significant contributors to the increase.

Meanwhile, it is clear after the Ukraine war that not only the Arab countries, even the European countries, are keen on acquiring the Israeli Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow air defence systems. Israeli media are pointing to this.
